In the wake of the recent ‘economic tsunami’ and the subsequent unraveling of the world economy, it is more apparent than ever that a more conscious and sustainable approach to entrepreneurship, leadership and society is essential for economic recovery.

The Women Council of GOPIO Holland has designed a one day Conference to reflect on the transformations that are being faced by entrepreneurs, managers and citizens in their professional lives. Furthermore this conference will discuss the current and future role that women play in understanding and enabling these transformations in order to help cultivate a more sustainable world economy. Historically- from Vedic, Vedantic to the post-Vedic age, the Indian mindset has been proven to be transformative. Therefore the GOPIO Women Council feels that addressing the current transformations is one of her priorities.

OBJECTIVES OF CONFERENCE
The conference aims to rein the three fields; to give the opportunity to participants to be inspired by meeting and interacting with role models, and by experiencing transformations through practices.

This conference brings together a diversity of women and men from various fields of interest and areas. This conference emphasizes the awareness of the major global changes the world is facing today and gives an opportunity to reflect upon possible solutions for the New Economy in realizing a more civil, empowered, sustainable and balanced society. More particularly it will reflect on the role women play in the New Economy.

Among many other inspiring professionals, we are honored to have two keynote speakers:
The Rt. Hon’ble Baroness Verma from the House of Lords of the United Kingdom and
Mr. Jos de Blok, a role model of Social Entrepreneurship from the Netherlands.
Mrs. Verma will share with us her thoughts on the role of women in the changing global society. She is Lords Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills (Higher Education) and Equalities and Women and The Whip for the Cabinet Office, Govt. of U.K. With her experience as a very successful woman, she provides insight at large but in particular within the field of Entrepreneurship and Management.

Mr. Jos de Blok, Founder of Buurtzorg, will share with us how he has realized transformations in the Elderly Home Care Industry through an innovative and sound business model. The subject of the ageing population is not only challenging in The Netherlands but is also a topic of discussion at global level. Therefore he is frequently requested to guide policy makers across the world. Recently he has started implementing his business model for Elderly Home Care in countries such as Sweden, USA, Japan and China.

The transformations the world is going through requires a more wholesome approach tapping into economic, psychology and social drives and talents of professionals. Therefore the Women Council will introduce the innovative concept of the Transformation Labs aiming to work on multi-dimensional aspects of our being. The participants will not only attend the presentations but they will also actively engage in critical reflection and discernment of what they see, feel, hear and experience.
